Thomas L. Tisdale founded the firm as the Law Offices of Thomas L. Tisdale in 1992. He graduated from Fairfield University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and was nominated to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. In 1981, Tom graduated from St. John’s School of Law in the upper one-third of his class. Since his admission to the bar in 1981, Tom has participated in innumerable maritime arbitrations and has tried over 25 cases, both jury and non-jury. He has argued on more than 15 occasions before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second, Sixth and Eleventh Circuits. He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts and is admitted to the First, Second, Third, Sixth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal and the United States Supreme Court.

 

Tom is an active member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States and its Committees on Recreational Boating, Cruise and Passenger Ships and Federal Practice and Procedure. He is also a member of the Litigation Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers’ Association, the Connecticut Maritime Association, the Maritime Association of the Port of New York and New Jersey and the Association of Average Adjusters of the United States. Since 2011, Tom has been named as one of the New York - Metro Super Lawyers.

 

Tom resides in Fairfield, Connecticut with his wife Jeanie. They have two sons, Kyle and Gavin.
